While bolting down the left head one of the bolts suddenly slipped and wouldnt tighten ( OH HELL). So the head comes back off and it appears that a few of the threads broke off from the block. My dad in law recognizes it and points out that its heli-coil (which is what people use to re-thread things of this sort). So options being get longer head bolts, put in more heli-coil or use a stud. Luckly he was headed to florida and after doing some searching he runs in to an old friend who gives him some (i dont know the specs myself) steel rod that he clams he uses when rebuilding engines. By the way my dad in law rebuilds caterpillar (CAT) engines and he clams there more than strong enough. He does really know his shit. Hes the best around at what he does and makes a tone of money for it. Anyway we only had to stud one hole but I do recommend anyone doing a rebuild to buy the APR stud kit to be safe and avoid the prob we had.
